ABET LAMINATI has been selected for the ADI Design Index 2023

The ADI Design Index exhibition was inaugurated in the evocative setting of the ADI Design Museum in Milan, as it is every year. This is the selection that the ADI makes every year of the best products and services in the Italian design sector as a precursor for the Compasso d’Oro award.

For 2024, the 70th anniversary of the institution of the award, the most authoritative in the sector, Abet Laminati has been selected for AlphAbet, the rebranding project – curated by about studio (Alessandro Boscarino and Valerio Aprigliano) with the support of design curators Giulio Iacchetti and Matteo Ragni. The project was born from the need to create a coherent corporate image with a transversal language capable of embracing the more purely commercial aspects and the world of design.

For this reason, it was decided to return the logo to its original colour, black, and remove all superfluous graphic and typographic elements. The result is a logotype that has been redesigned in terms of curves, thicknesses and letter spacing to give formal unity to an already iconic sign.

This minimal but fundamental intervention gave rise to the idea of communicating with letters, designed from the letters of the Abet Laminati logotype.

On this solid base, AlphAbet was born to create a true visual alphabet, an identity system made up of expressive letters that visually interpret the company’s history and the specific characteristics of each product. A simple, complex system in which Abet moves with all the necessary formal freedom without ever losing its identity.

AlphAbet is an open communication system in constant growth and evolution.
