Working with designers, artists and architects, who have made and continue to make design history, allows Abet Laminati to innovate charting the course for the future, and exploring new possibilities applied to surface design. In addition to this, the company has always operated by implementing a series of behaviours and processes to reduce environmental impact.
This is why we are proud of the awards won by the Mare Nostrum collection of Abet Laminati‘s Design Edition. Created by Matteo Ragni – Abet’s Design Curator – the collection celebrates the sea, a symbol of vitality and biodiversity. It is an element that touches the coasts of every continent, uniting and connecting then. The new “Mare Nostrum” collection fits in perfectly with the Re-Abet laminate core, manufactured from 100% certified recycled kraft paper.
Abet Laminati was honoured at the Archiproducts Design Awards 2024 with three awards. The first recognises the company’s contribution to the world of design: Abet Laminati was first of all awarded as a brand. The second is the Archiproducts Design Awards for the Mare Nostrum collection and the third is the 2024 Sustainability Award for the Re-Abet product. The competition, first launched in 2016, celebrates global design excellence, highlighting the synergy between designers and brands, their innovativeness and commitment to sustainability. With a new and multidisciplinary jury, this year’s ADAs offered a privileged look at new trends, outlining and redefining the future of design.
Mare Nostrum is also part of the ADI Design Index, the annual selection of the best Italian design 2024, and will compete for the Compasso d’Oro 2026, the oldest but above all the world’s most authoritative design award.
For Abet Laminati, this is a further confirmation of the company’s constant contribution to the world of design and innovation. A material, the decorative laminate, that has gradually taken on the identity of a true creative raw material for highly distinctive projects. ‘An extraordinary man-made material for architecture’ as designer Gio Ponti used to define it.
