Work in Progress
“Work in Progress” is the new collection designed by Mario Scairato inspired by contemporary cities in constant evolution.
Whenever we look at the laminates in the “Work in Progress” collection, our thoughts turn to the ability to reinvent everyday things.
Abet Laminati, since its beginnings in Bra in the 1950s, has constantly worked on the image of its products through the search for decors and textures capable of arousing curiosity and emotions and bringing inspiration.
The collaboration with designer Mario Scairato is part of this long and fruitful tradition. A remarkable work that is articulated in many images, textures, and graphic thoughts, with a bold and free use of color. A reflection on the activity of design and the designer, on the ability to reinvent everyday things, on its power to change the meaning of signs.
The metamorphosis of a city is both a vital and mournful process. Creating new forms and new spaces inevitably involves the destruction of other forms and spaces. Mario Scairato’s gaze offers an ironic and clear synthesis of the transition, isolating and abstracting the fundamental elements that make the change itself possible.
Change is also an integral part of Abet Laminati, of his way of conceiving work. “Work in Progress” is characterised by this philosophy of reuse, of the continuous change of matter.
