Few days are left till the commencing of the fifth edition of Milano Design Film Festival, the event showing the world of design and architecture on the big screen of the Anteo Palazzo del Cinema, from Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 October 2017.
On Saturday the documentary ‘Il treno di Sottsass’ (‘Sottsass’s train’) will be aired for the first time on the big screen. Produced by Sky Arte HD and 3D Produzioni, in collaboration with Abet Laminati, this documentary film pays tribute to one of the most important artists of the 20th century: the Italian architect and designer Ettore Sottsass.
The documentary presents a complete overview of Sottsass’s graphic work, including his great interest in laminate and the significant collaboration established with Abet Laminati, one of the longest and most culturally rich partnership in design history. In little less than an hour, this documentary illustrates Ettore Sottsass’s life and work not only from his personal point of view, but also through interviews with some of his friends and colleagues including Arata Isozaki, Michele De Lucchi, Nathalie Du Pasquier, and wife Barbara Radice.
