On the occasion of the centenary of his birth, Triennale di Milano dedicates to Achille Castiglioni, one of the most important Italian designer, a solo show curated by Patricia Urquiola in collaboration with Federica Sala, focused on architectural design, exhibitions and outfittings.
In October will be opened also the exhibition: “Dimensione Domestica Atto III” at the Fondazione Achille Castiglioni, Piazza Castello 27, Milan; this is the third chapter of an exhibition dedicated to home, as Achille Castiglioni perceived it. The living room is protagonist, as conceived by Castiglioni on the occasion of the “Mobili Italiani” exhibition in Tokyo in 1984.
The installation reproduces the “Salle à Manger”: a big round table made of many little single ones located around a round “carpet” produced with Abet laminates and designed by Aoi Kono-Huber.
Abet laminates have been frequently chosen by Achille Castiglioni for the realization of furniture or the setting up of exhibitions in Italy and abroad; for “Dimensione Domestica Atto III” 7 Colours decors – Collezione 2015>2018, Sei finish – have been selected to recreate the same pattern designed for Tokyo.
With Abet Laminati, other companies that collaborated with Castiglioni for the original setting have been involved in this project: Zanotta, Flos e Alessi.
Thanks to a streaming connection, until the 20th of January 2019 a partial view of the exhibition at the Fondazione Castiglioni will be visible on one of the screens located at the entrance of the exhibition.
